WHEN DID YOU ENTER THE FASHION INDUSTRY? TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE!
I have been in the industry since 2009. Haha, this feels like writing a résumé! Anyways! It started when I was offered an opportunity to work as a fashion stylist at a well-known young adult magazine in Indonesia, called Aneka Yess!. This gig opened doors to many other opportunities that I was passionate about; not to mention, I was able to meet and network with influential people in the fashion industry.

In addition to the job at the magazine, I was working independently as a personal stylist for Indonesian celebrities. To name a few, my clients included Indah Dewi Pertiwi, Marcell Siahaan, Vicky Shu7icons, Super7, Bean Band, 3 Composer, Waktu Band, Aura Kasih, Armada Band,... the list goes on.

I was working non stop, and I enjoyed the process. From being a PR for a couple of designers and a head stylist for a national TV program in Indonesia, to being involved with the Miss Universe organization, to directing shows and events for a few fashion houses. I wore many hats; most of the time I ran a one-woman show.

Post Aneka Yess! days, I joined Indonesian Creative Hub, whose mission is to bring Indonesian designers' creativity to major fashion shows in Europe and North America. As the organization evolved, we extended our vision by opening a boutique in New York City, to showcase the designers' collections. The boutique is called Indonesia Fashion Gallery (or as we call it, "The Gallery"), and it has been around for two years. Our clienteles range from renowned Indonesian designers such as Anniesa Hasibuan, Mira Indria, and Coreta Louise. As you know, Anniesa Hasibuan was the first designer to have showcased hijab fashion at the New York Fashion Week: The Show, and it was our honor to have been the organizer for her for two seasons in a row at this major event.

I have been with IFG/ICH since the beginning, and at the moment working on a few big projects that will be in production soon. As in the past, I am the fashion director, curator, stylist. It has been a pleasure to work along side Ms. Teti Nurhayati, who is the CEO of IFG/ICH, to spread made-in-Indonesia creative minds worldwide. We are proud to be the fashion ambassadors who voice and introduce Indonesian designers globally, starting from New York City.
